If you recently graduated or are about to graduate with a degree in accounting and have not yet secured a job, we want to hear from you! Our client is one of Birmingham’s top companies and they are adding a Staff Accountant to their team due to the company’s continued growth and success. Providing a collaborative and motivating team environment are a top priority for the company! The Staff Accountant will be involved with reconciling balance sheet accounts, analyzing relevant financial data, preparing various financial reports and assisting with other financial projects as needed.
The individual will be responsible for:
- Responsible for various activities necessary to produce accurate and timely financial reports
- Performing the month-end close process, including journal entries and general ledger review
- Assisting with account reconciliation including researching and resolving all issues
- Maintaining and supporting fixed assets
- Work with other areas of the company to help with any accounting issues/ questions
- Various ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and an accounting internship required
- Ability to work in a changing and fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and deductive reasoning skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Strong desire to learn
